What is Restorative Dental Care?
Any procedure that is intended to restore the normal function and appearance of your smile is considered restorative dental care.
Once your oral health condition has been diagnosed, our dentists at Accent Dental can determine which restorative treatment option is right for you.
If you have a missing tooth, one with a chip or crack, or any other type of tooth damage, you'll likely want to have it repaired as soon as possible. Not only can it impact the appearance of your smile, but these issues may lead to additional problems that require more extensive treatment.
Root Canals
During a root canal, your dentist will remove diseased blood vessels, nerves, and tissues from the interior of your tooth. By removing the decay and bacteria, your dentist can help stop the spread of infection and prevent the need for an extraction.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are porcelain caps that are placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance. Crowns can be used to attach bridges, cover dental implants, or to restore a discoloured or stained tooth to its natural appearance.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth. Custom bridges can help restore the bite between upper and lower teeth and the natural contour of your smile.
Dental Fillings
At Accent Dental, we use composite (tooth-coloured) fillings to repair cavities or damaged teeth. These fillings can be used on front and/or back teeth, and can withstand moderate pressure from the stress of chewing.
Dentures & Implants
Dentures are artificial teeth used to replace one missing tooth or several in a row (partial dentures), or a whole jaw of missing teeth (full dentures). At Accent Dental, we offer implant-supported dentures to help restore your smile.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings used to repair cavities when the damage is too extensive for a standard dental filling. They are custom-made in a dental laboratory and are then permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.
